Has anybody figured out if you can chat between two IMfree's on one base/PC without having to go on-line?

I kinda suspected that. I know very little about the hardware. I've gotten through basic (and BASIC) programming, now scratching my head over Java. Just a few levels beyond the "Hello World" stage. I suppose I'd have to get proficient at programming before learing about getting into the brains of a device.

Actually, this is possible, and I have done it. I had two units sending messages between each other via a server. I need to improve the server and the protocol more to iron all the bugs out.

Sounds intriguing. Is there room to post it?

I am (working on it). You'd have to set up an XMPP (Jabber) server on your machine, though.

Never mind. I decided to get off my lazy ASCII and surf a little.
I'm on a PC all day at work, suffering with XP. I have to do a lot
of surfing (Purchasing Department) looking for info and prices.
I'm burned out on recreational surfing. Just in case you were
wondering which planet I was from.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
