What is MVA?
Multi-domain Vertical Alignment
"Fujitsu's advanced TFT-LCD MVA process technology features liquid crystal molecules angled in more than one direction within a single cell. This is achieved by the division of the cell into two or more regions, called domains, and by using protrusions on the glass surfaces to pre-tilt the molecules in the desired direction. By combining very small areas of molecules orientated in two directions, one opposite the other, the brightness of the cells is made to appear uniform over a wide range of viewing angles." - electronicstalk.com
The display's most notable features include an ultra-wide viewing angle (160-degrees both vertical and horizontal), high contrast ratio (400:1), and high brightness (250 cd/m2), and ultra-fast 25ms response time.
Fujitsu is working on a new product 'MVA Premium' which will increase the contrast ratio to 600:1 and the brightness to 500 cd/m! The response time is the same, but improved for gray scale transitions (15ms) Check out [MVA Premium].
The backlights (4 CCFL's in this one) are replacable (by a tech), and have a 50k hour life.
